Spring clean up: Front yard

It was so beautiful today, I couldn't wait to get outside and do some much needed clean up in our front yard. The hedges in particular had not been trimmed for almost 2 years...I blame it on being pregnant...and then not wanting to do it when I had a little one last year. ;) We got the flower beds cleaned out, roses trimmed, hedges trimmed, walkway swept, and weeds pulled. There is still more to do...it never really stops...but we felt good with the progress we made today. Especially since Henry decided he only needed a short nap this afternoon and so was outside "helping" us during most of it.

For the first little bit, Henry was fine playing in his port-a-crib with some toys and eating some fishy crackers...but then he decided he needed to be out! I haven't let Henry be outside to just explore since being mobile, so this was really his first time in the front yard. He explored every inch of our yard! He even managed to walk up our steep driveway without assistance. He loved the solar lights and took apart several of them. ;( He surprised me when he would fall and his hands would get dirty...he would shake them in the air and then carry on. He was pretty dirty by the time I brought him inside to have dinner...and was really tired. He went to bed at 7:30 tonight! (That's about an hour early for him.)

You're doing a great job in taking care of your yard! Aside from mowing and watering, you should also keep growing plants, so that the soil will not lose its moisture. Also, keep it free from dried leaves, plants, and weeds to not attract insects that might pose a threat to your lawn.
